Girlie Man Frosting Hair

I came downstairs this morning to find Nathan up and just waiting for someone to unlock the pantry so he could have some Kix cereal. After pouring my own bowl of Life, Nathan points at the Quaker guy on the Life cereal box and remarks to me, "Dad, he looks like a girl. He has frosting hair. NO ONE should have frosting hair!"

Temple Reminder

Taylor was very concerned last night when he realized at bedtime that we had forgotten to read our scriptures as a family. Matt had run out as soon as he got home to help our neighbors whose basement had flooded, and then to contact a less active family in the ward, and we didn't end up reading as a family. Matt told Taylor to remind us tomorrow and we'd be sure to do it. Taylor looked at Matt, pointed to his temple, and said, "OK, keep it in your mind, Dad."

Cute

I was combing Nathan's hair before we left to run errands, and he asked me if he was cute. I said, "Of course!" Then he asked if he would be cute when he grows up. I responded that he would be very handsome. His voice caught as he tried not to cry and he said, "But Mom, I don't want to be handsome. I just always want to be cute!"

Shining Through

Today we were cleaning off the entertainment center, and we found Daddy's picture portfolio. We decided to take a look at it, and we came across a picture of the sunset. It was beautiful picture taken looking west from Utah Lake near Saratoga Springs. The sunset is blue, purple, and pink, with rays shining through clouds. Nathan pointed at it and said, "Look! It's God!" It was so sweet.

Blessings

A little background: Nathan has been praying every night for the past few months to have good dreams. This morning, he woke up very upset. He told me, "Heavenly Father and Jesus aren't blessing me to have good dreams!" I tried to explain that prayers are not always answered the way we think they should be.
