Could I have a side of finger with that?

I was lecturing Taylor on how sweet, but how dangerous, it was to sneak up behind me and give me a surprise hug while I was cutting up meat for fondue night tonight. Here's how our conversation ended:

Taylor: "I'm sorry, Mom!"

Mom: "I almost cut off my pinky finger! That would have been the end of fondue night."

Taylor: "Well...then Dad could have made fondue for us."

Is that really possible?

Christmas Eve morning as we sat down to breakfast, Nathan commented: "I was upstairs, getting socks on and going to the bathroom... not at the same time." Well, you'd have to be pretty talented to do that.

Desert or Jungle?

While traveling in Arizona, we overheard Nathan excitedly pointing out the foliage of the local climate to Taylor:

"Look at all those jungle trees!"

He was way excited about all those palm trees.

Wait...Where Are We?

While in Arizona for Tami's wedding, we stayed with my sister, Tiffany and her husband, Chad. While saying family prayer one of the nights, Nathan got a little confused:

"Please bless Jon and Kristie for letting us stay with them.......um"

Then whispered to me, "Whose house are we at?"

We barely made it to the Amen before the explosion of laughter. Jon and Kristie, Nathan sure loves you!

Our Independent Taylor

We were at my sister's wedding reception. Taylor had been asked to temporarily sit at the guest sign-in table and guard the cards with money in them. We didn't think a 7-year-old was the wisest choice to greet the guests, so we asked him to come away from the table with us. He adamantly refused. In frustration, Matt asked him, "Who is is charge here?"

Taylor emphatically responded, "I AM!"

(Remember that Safety Kids song called I'm in Charge of Me? It's been running through my mind ever since.)

Geico

We were meeting our friends at a restaurant in Mesa called The Gecko Grill. Taylor pipes up from the back seat: "Where is Geico?"

(By the way, we HIGHLY recommend The Gecko Grill. I just know it's one of those things I'll crave when I'm pregnant, and I live 600-something miles away!)

If I Only Had a Brain!

Nathan was in trouble for messing with our camera. I sent him to time out and told him to think about what he did and why it was wrong.

The next thing I heard was, "I'm not going to think again! Not FOREVER and EVER!"
